Pretti Jaiin, who has been in the eye of the storm for a while, and
has been facing the brickbats and difficulties of life with stoicism,
says she is ready to move on in life. Now that a Mumbai court has given a
green signal for the rape trial to begin against ace filmmaker Madhur
Bhandarkar, for allegedly raping her repeatedly, after promising a role
in his film, Pretti is in a calm state of mind.

Ready for love
She says in a matter-of-fact manner that her "traumatic past has indeed made her extremely wary of emotional entanglements. But, she goes on to add: "I am more cautious than ever and don't trust people easily. But, I think I am ready for love now." As her if there's someone special on her horizon, and she replies taking a deep breath: "Right now I will only say this much that I am getting a lot of marriage proposals. The best part is that these proposals are coming from men, who are strong individuals, and just not affected by my past."
Turning a filmmaker
While wedding bells may not ring immediately for her, Pretti is all set to make a film. "I am going to make a film soon, but I can't speak about it because it is a controversial subject," says she.
Trial update
And what is the latest on the trial front? Has Madhur Bhandarkar appealed against it, as media reports claimed? Pretti's counsel, advocate Sushan Kunjuraman, answers this, saying: "Madhur Bhandarkar can't appeal in a higher court because he doesn't have sufficient grounds for that."
