Why Saif isn't confirming his wedding date

It’s been a while since his mother and sisters confirmed an October 16 wedding, but actor Saif Ali Khan still says no date has been decided upon. Is it to save fiancee Kareena Kapoor from Bollywood’s married-actress jinx that has made many leading ladies lose their career after they got  hitched? Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has clarified that it was he who dropped her from his forthcoming Romeo and Juliet adaptation as he did not want a ‘married Juliet’, and it wasn’t she who ditched him. While Kareena cites date conflicts as the reason, the ouster may just be the reason behind Saif’s denial of a definitive marriage date.
Why Saif isn't confirming his wedding date
“I haven’t fixed a date for my wedding! I’m yet to meet Kareena’s parents to sort out the date ... the venue is also not finalised,” says the actor, maintaining the obvious: It’s going to be a year-end wedding.” He doesn’t sound very thrilled about it either. “As for excitement, we’ve been together [for a while], so what’s new? I’m 41, not an 18-year-old!” And, how are his kids taking it?

“Everyone is very happy,” he comes crisp, adding that he is saving for the future. For him, like for most other  male actors, there’s no career-lapse to fear. “There are good movies and great roles coming my way. I’m reuniting with Milan Luthria for another film, and I play a UP mafia don in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next. Then there’s Sajid Khan’s film.”

Bebo, on the other hand, does not have a single project in her kitty after Aamir’s Talaash and Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine. “Being a married actress is a curse in Bollywood, and precisely because of this reason, Saif and Kareena have time and again pushed their wedding date and are still not talking about it as it will not just affect her future films but also the ones that she is working on,” says a trade analyst, wishing not to be named.

Trade expert Amod Mehra says, “Bollywood, like our society, is chauvinistic. Actresses have a very small shelf life unlike in Hollywood. Once an actress gets married, her career ends as audiences stop desiring her.”

I am still single: Sonal Chauhan

I am still single: Sonal ChauhanOn Sunday, Neil Nitin Mukesh declared that he is in love with Sonal Chauhan and also wishes to marry her. Once the interview was out, Sonal was flooded with calls asking for her side of the story.

Despite Neil's declaration, Sonal says she isn't in any committed relationship. Excerpts from an interview with the actor:

We have heard Neil Nitin Mukesh's side of the story. What's your take on his comments?
Neil is fantastic human being and a good friend of mine. Fact is, four months is too short a period for me to get into a committed relationship.

What's "3G" all about?
3G is a supernatural thriller. We are almost done with the shooting of the movie. Only 10 days of shooting is left in Mumbai. We just returned from our 45-day shooting schedule in Fiji. I am eagerly waiting for the director to come up with the edited version of the movie.

While shooting for an underwater sequence of your movie in Fiji, you and Neil had a scary experience with snakes in the middle of the sea...
The experience was fine till we were told that the snakes were poisonous. We were initially briefed that the snakes were non-poisonous and so, were pretty relaxed. But once we came out of the water, we were told the truth. That was scary.

We have seen you in a couple of Bollywood movies and some down South. Up until now, how much have you explored yourself as an actor?
Every time I do a movie, I explore something new about myself. I experience new emotions through my movies and characters. I choose my movies on the basis of characters I can relate to. Even when I go and watch movies, I try to figure out how well I can relate to the characters.

What kind of roles do you fancy?
As an actor, one should be versatile and I am open to all sorts of roles. I'd love to play characters with grey shades. That's how an actor explores herself. It is a challenge to be able to portray what nobody else has imagined about me.

Any specific role you wish to relive in reel life?
There are lots of them but my favourite is "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge" If such a movie is ever remade, I would love to relive the character of Simran ( Kajol) on the silver screen.

How do you see yourself down 20 years hence?
My career has just taken off and I feel I am still a struggler. I have to achieve a lot more in life. I might keep myself engaged in movies or even join politics. Politics in India needs the involvement of youngsters.

Kareena to play PM in Prakash Jha's next?

If all goes well, Kareena Kapoor would play none other than the Prime Minister of India in Prakash Jha's next. The actress would reportedly pair up with her Omkara co-star Ajay Devgn in the movie, reports Mid Day. “Kareena Kapoor will be seen playing a female Prime Minister of India in Prakash Jha’s political sequel. The film is expected to go on the floors by the end of the year and apparently it was Ajay who suggested that Kareena should play the role. Jha immediately agreed and after Omkara it will be her first major performance-oriented role where she would also be de-glamorised,” a source told the tabloid.
Kareena to play PM in Prakash Jha's next?
Bebo apparently is quite excited about her role. Sources say that Jha and Kareena have spoken and they are working on the details of the film. The actress will reportedly do an in-depth research on the major female prime ministers all across the world. "She will then do research about their lives and their mannerisms. Shilpa Shetty not miffed with spoof on her song

Recently, there have been rumours doing the round that actress Shilpa Shetty is not too happy with the spoof done on her song UP, Bihar, lootne, in Ekta Kapoor’s next sex comedy Kya Super Kool Hain Hum. The film, which has a lot of spoofs on many other films, features a song which emulates the actress’s famous item number.

But, a source close to the actor insists they are baseless rumours, as the actor herself gave the green light to it. “Before doing the song, the producers of the film had taken permission from the actor. And Shilpa took it in good spirit and gave them the green light. So, she is not miffed at all, she was aware of the song being made. Furthermore, Ekta went to the actor’s house for brunch two days ago and showed her the video of the song. Shilpa actually liked the song a lot. She feels they have done a great job,” the source adds.

The source continues, “Though the song Hum hai cappuccino is a spoof on Shilpa’s dance number from the film Shool (1999), it is pretty different than the original song. And Shilpa believes that it is quite tastefully done. Also, she is busy now taking care of her baby boy, so she has no time for getting miffed with simple things like this.”

Actors Tusshar Kapoor along with his co-star Riteish Deshmukh have done the item number. The duo shot for almost 12 hours in the night and has kept it as raunchy as possible, in keeping with the overall theme of the film.
